Leafy Greens (Ugu, Spinach, Lettuce, Scent Leaves)

Leafy greens are the sprinters of the vegetable world — quick to spoil but easy to preserve with the right care.

How to Store:

Option A: Refrigerate Fresh

            •           Remove any damaged leaves.

            •           Rinse lightly or wipe clean.

            •           Wrap in paper towel or clean cloth to absorb moisture.

            •           Put inside a breathable bag or container.

            •           Store in the vegetable drawer. Can last up to 3–5 days.

Option B: Blanch and Freeze (For Ugu, Spinach)

            •           Wash and cut.

            •           Blanch in hot water for 30–60 seconds.

            •           Cool in cold water, drain, and pack in freezer bags. Can last up to 2 months.
